A love for birds, conservation, and the outdoors fuse to generate my work. I aim to depict the unique characteristics and personalities of our precious native birds to focus on their importance. Particularly in exploring the link with music I hope to portray their beauty and endangered song.
I work mainly with pencil which will always be my favourite. It doesn’t require anything fancy and I think there is something special about creating with a media so simple.
I am 19 and grew up in Ruby Bay, Nelson and now study Architecture at Victoria University of Wellington. In my spare moments, I enjoy getting outdoors tramping, boating, running and camping to gather inspiration.
Student Art Award, Impressions Art Awards 2013. This award entitled me to a solo exhibition at the Re nery Artspace which I held in May 2014.
Nelson College for Girls Exhibition, 2015
I led the organisation of the successful art exhibition ‘Whatever Floats Your Boat…’ held at the Refinery Art Space. This involved applying for the space and working with students to gather artwork, advertising, organising the opening and working with the gallery.
I have been a finalist in the National Youth Art Awards, 2015 and 2016, Peters Doig Marlborough Art Awards, 2015, 2016 and 2017 and received a merit award in the PANZ Purely Pastel National Art Awards, 2016. I won the Sprig&Fern People’s Choice Award at the 2015 Nelson Art Expo and my artwork was printed on a limited run of the Sprig & Fern Pilsner labels.

Selected into Stage 2 of the Pinnacle Programme, 2016
The Pinnacle Programme is a unique mentoring program which I have been selected into for my passion and achievements in visual arts. Stage two involves completing an Outward Bound Course and specialised workshops.
Excellence Scholarship of Victoria University, 2016
I was accepted into the School of Architecture and awarded the $5000 scholarship to go towards my studies.

In 2016, I successfully completed my first year of architecture with an A average and was awarded a place on the Dean’s List.
